[Pencil Crayon] 4/100

I decided to sign up for the 100 day project, because why not. I’m doing 100 days of bugs found in Canada – drawing them in pencil crayon. Maybe I’ll actually get better at my art over time. We’ll see.

The prompt for this week was ‘birds’ and I love how this one turned out!

The prompt for this week was ‘landscapes’ and for some reason I decided to do my first ever gouache picture – which I absolutely HATE. But it is what it is.

This is week 3 and 4 out of 52 – the prompt on the left hand side is ‘flowers’ and the prompt on the right side is ‘something floating’

It’s 52 weeks of art, the prompt for this week was “treasure”

I wanted 2025 to be the year that I actually USED my sketchbooks, instead of just collected them – so I started a few challenges. One of the ones I started is 52 weeks of art, at least one watercolour painting a week. I wrote out prompts for this challenge, and the first one is pictured above: salad.
I’m hoping that by creating intentional art time, I actually get better at my craft and since I’m not very familiar with watercolour paint, I want to get better at that, too. Whether I get better or not, I’m having a lot of fun and it feels very nice to be creating.
I’ve been slowly preparing this site and getting things ready. I’ve never sold any of my art before, so it’s a bit surreal and I’m not sure what to think of it all. I’m trying to take my time, and do things properly. In the meantime, I’ve shuffled around my art supplies to try to better accommodate my habits. I have two areas, one downstairs where my computer is, and one upstairs that holds most of my art supplies. I was trying to do art downstairs since that’s where everyone is at, but I was simply running out of room and it was frustrating me. I’ve since moved all traditional art supplies upstairs, and I’ll keep digital art supplies downstairs. Hopefully that means I actually USE the art supplies, but it may take some time. I did manage to create this cute little watercolour postcard. It was a lot of fun – but I also need a lot more practice. My hands have been giving me some issues lately, so I try to fit in some art where I can, and not put too much pressure on myself.
